The YUDU Design & Technology Awards 2014: The Winners

Feel free to have a look at YUDU’s annual Design & Technology Awards, the judges have just announced the winners of the five categories, and the details are below:

BYOD/Training App Category:

execsense

Winner: Execsense.

Execsense edged out HR Director and Citadel Investment Services to claim the best app of the BYOD/Training space. Excellent use of audio lectures in app and an intuitive, easily navigable welcome screen were key selling points.

Runners up: HR Director, Citadel Investment Services.

Association App Category:

unislim

Winner: Unislim Bookstore.

Ireland’s favorite weight-loss association, one that has been in operation for 40 years, recently went digital, bringing their weight-loss material, including books and magazines to a digital environment. Great use of interactive assets combined with an integrated “social wall” helped Unislim take this category.

Runners up: The Salvation Army, The Royal Yachting Association Books, The International Seabed Authority.

Consumer Magazine App Category:

ignition

Winner: iGNITION: Williams F1.

The Official Williams F1 app’s excellent use of interactive assets to help illustrate the mechanics and engineering of their F1 operations made it a sure-fire winner for the Consumer Magazine category.

Runners up: Architectural Design, Time Out.

Business Magazine App Category:

greenfleet

Winner: Greenfleet.

Greenfleet’s magazine provided a good mix of video and text-based content, it also provided its userbase with useful, up-to-date information and an easy to use navigation screen.

Runners up: Labmate, Institute of Directors: Director Magazine.

Education App Category:

good-night-books

Winner: Good Night Books.

Good Night Books’ app fused excellent design with in-depth functionality: Providing young children with features like read-aloud, alongside providing its publishers’ with a framework to publish video, children’s educational books as well as games.

Runners up: The Official Cambridge Guide to IELTS, The Future Game: The Football Association.
