Esri: Pushing the boundaries of HTML5 interactivity with YUDU technology

We’re delighted to announce that our case study with Esri, one of the world’s leading suppliers of Digital Information Systems, has gone live. The link can be found here if you’d like to read it.

This case study will be of particular interest to anyone interested in what’s possible with HTML5/JavaScript within an app environment. We’ve worked closely with Esri’s bookstore division in helping to create an app that can not only act as an easily accessible bookshelf for all their published titles, but also empowered them to embed highly interactive geographical overlays, charts and other forms of primarily map-related data.

Ordinarily this sort of interactive content would be employed only within a browser environment, but the simplicity of YUDU’s overlay tools in embedding existing HTML/JavaScript content makes it an easy process to include interactive elements within a digital publication. So together with Esri we helped them kill two birds with one stone: Delivering content to their user base on mobile devices as easily as possible and including all the perks of scripted interactivity alongside it.

The Esri app is available for download by anyone with an iOS device.

Esri is a global developer of geographic information system (GIS) software.
Esri has provided solutions to more than 300,000 organizations worldwide including two-thirds of Fortune 500 companies.
