IPG Launches Multi-Platform App

Post Frankfurt activities are in full flow here at YUDU and only now are we finding the time to reflect on what we learnt about new and exciting developments. One point in particular, is the over-whelming influence that digital is having on the Publishing Industry, particularly with independent book publishers. We are very pleased that the excitement did not end when we left the Book Fair! The Independent Publishers Guild (IPG) have just launched their first ever app, using YUDU technology.

The brand new app will give independent publishers a great new way to stay in touch with IPG activities and goings-on across the industry. It is available to download completely free of charge to members and non-members alike, on both Apple and Android platforms, making it ideal for those using smartphones and tablets.

The apps contents include comprehensive and up-to-date details about IPG events and news of forth coming seminars, making it easier for members to book their places while on the go. There are also extracts from The Insiders’ Guide to Independent Publishing, the IPG’s very own handbook, allowing existing and aspiring publishers to pick up tips from the experts, plus the facility to buy copies online. Job vacancies among IPG members are also available to view and there is access to IPG’s twitter feed and the latest news from across the industry, via feeds from The Bookseller and Book2Book.

IPG executive director Bridget Shine says “We are thrilled to be extending our digital presence with the launch of this new app. Whether they are at their desks or on the move, it gives our members a simple and flexible way to stay in touch with all that we do around the year.”
