A report outlining the results of a September survey of digital publishing users on how they currently use digital publishing, and how they plan to in the future is now available.
The report’s findings suggest that organizations are increasing their use of digital publishing across multiple platforms, most notably mobile platforms such as the iPad. Digital publishers are creating a new era of publishing, designing content specifically for digital editions, aiming to create an interactive reading experience, be it desktop computer, laptop, iPad or other mobile devices.
Results show that the iPad has already had a significant impact on the way readers consume content with digital publishers seeing the iPad playing an integral part in the future of publishing, nearly one in three respondents reported that they plan to publish on the iPad within six months.
