PPA Awards 2010

Last night, June 16th, the crème de la crème of the publishing world descended on Mayfair’s Grosvenor House Hotel for the Oscars of the Publishing world, the PPA Awards, which celebrates editorial and publishing excellence in both consumer magazines and business media.

The night was hosted by funnyman Sean Lock who had the room in hysterics with his sardonic wit; he insightfully notified the audience that the Oscars is infact often called the PPA’s of the film world!  This year’s ceremony was extra special as it celebrated the 30th anniversary of the event, it was also the UK’s first 3D Awards ceremony! Que us looking o so very trendy in 3D glasses all evening,  once the glasses came off one was left feeling slightly bemused, blurred vision; down to the 3D images or the steady flow of Champagne…?

YUDU Media sponsored the Business Web Service of the Year award which Robert, our Marketing Director presented to TES Connect, big congratulations to them, well deserved! Our congratulations also go out to Time Out who YUDU shared a table with for the evening, they were the big winners of the evening picking up two awards: International Consumer Magazine of the Year and Columnist of the Year, I’m sure there has been some celebrating going on over at the Time Out office today!

A full list of all the evenings’ winners can be found here.

We’ve added some photos of the evening on our facebook page – enjoy!
