Just One Day Left to Enter the Digital Magazine Awards!

Times ticking digital publishers, entry submission for the Digital Magazine Awards ends tomorrow, the 30th of September.

The Digital Magazine Awards, launched by Bruce Hudson, celebrates the best in digital publishing, whilst also encourage new growth in the industry, something that we here at YUDU thoroughly agree with.

We know YUDU is home to oodles of talent, so get entering, there are 19 categories recognising designers, writers, editors, and both specialists and generalist titles that are innovating in online and digital publishing. This is a great opportunity to showcase your digital magazines and give them the recognition they deserve. Entry forms can be found here

Mr Francis Scott Key Fitzgerald, author of The Great Gatsby born 114 years ago today

Today marks the anniversary of the birth of F.Scott Fitzgerald, celebrated American author.

Widely regarded as one of the twentieth century’s greatest writers F.Scott Fitzgerald completed four novels, This Side of ParadiseThe Beautiful and DamnedTender Is the Night and his most famous work; The Great Gatsby, which we have available for you to read today.

YUDU at the 2010 Frankfurt Book Fair

This year YUDU media will join the 7,500 exhibitors attending the world’s biggest book fair!

Between the 6th and 10th of October 290,000 visitors, 10,000 journalists and 7,500 exhibitors from over 100 countries will descend on Frankfurt for the world famous Frankfurt Book Fair.

YUDU will be talking Branded iPad Apps; the opportunities they provide as marketing channels, YUDU’s overcoming the subscription hurdle and the general benefits of having a branded app available in the App Store.

We’ll be in Hall 6.0 Stand D935 in the Mobile HOT SPOT area for the Wednesday, Thursday and Friday so if you’re planning on being in Germany for the event, pop by our stand, both our CEO Richard Stephenson and our Marketing Director Robert Elding will be available for meetings, which you can book through the Frankfurt Book Fair Website.

YUDU CEO Richard Stephenson will also be doing a special 30 minute presentation at 11.45am on Wednesday the 6th in the Mobile HOT SPOT Theatre, entitled “Merits and opportunities of developing marketing channels to readers using your own iPad and iPhone Apps”

Students and young people are spending an increasing amount of time online, which makes digital prospectuses an obvious choice for Universities.

It makes perfect sense; students are spending more and more time online, so why not peruse University prospectuses online too.

Lancaster University have the right idea, their prospectus is brimming with rich media which adds an extra dimension to a prospectus; welcome videos, tours of accommodation and departments all help potential students get a clearer picture of their possible future university.

Aberystwyth, Bath Spa, Cornell, Leeds and York University (to name but a few) have also seen the potential in going digital, all producing their prospectuses using YUDU.
