For the launch of YUDU Freedom, we are exhibiting at Internet World, Earls Court 2 in London, from Tuesday 29th April – Thursday 1sy May. Come over and see us… we’d love to hear your thoughts. And if your lucky, you might just catch our hero, The YUDU Man…

Richard Stephenson, our CEO & Chairman will also be presenting at 10am on Weds 30th, discussing ‘The Battle of the Online Reading Formats’.

You can register here for free entry.

We hope to see you there…..

Great digital publications make for great worldwide reading…

Well, it’s been just over a week since launch and we’ve had some great results. People are publishing and reading YUDU Freedom editions in over 121 countries all over the world.

Thanks for all your feedback and keep it coming! Tom already wants another holiday and I think the other development guys might be on the brink of divorce from their other halves…but at least it shows we are listening and working hard to keep improving your site. We have numerous updates planned for the coming weeks, months, years… so keep coming back to check them out.

But onto the creative talent that’s being shared with the world….

The publications vary from small digital portfolios, CV’s & reports, to digital brochures, digital magazines and huge digital books!

As you will have noticed, we showcase some of your creations on our homepage, including a ‘Publication of the Week’. If you think your digital publication is good enough and you want to show it off to the world, please email the link and Jpeg to: lisa (dot) moore (at) yudu (dot) com. Brochures, newsletters, magazines, portfolio’s, books… and any of the more obscure publications that would highlight innovative YUDU-usage will be great.

We can’t guarantee your work will be added to the site… but sending it to me will give you a better chance!

Last week’s Publication of the Week, children’s book ‘Millie & Moo and the fun things we do’, created by Debbie Slater, has had thousands of unique views from YUDU Freedom visitors all over the world (in just one week!). That’s a lot of notice. And add to that, first page Google listings (first 2 listings on the page to be exact) for “Millie & Moo YUDU”… and you’re onto a winner! Great work Debbie and we hope your YUDU edition continues to be a success for you.

YUDU, Sharing, and Development

So we’re finally live with the new YUDU Freedom and it’s out there for people to use all over the world.  As the guy at YUDU dealing with new development that leaves me both excited and scared as people try it out :)

We’ve made a lot of changes with the new Freedom, and I hope you like them.  In particular, i’m really interested in gathering your feedback – I don’t consider a product ever finished and there’s always room for improvement for both publishers and readers.

We’re currently leveraging Java to deliver the software and process to you, and although the Freedom product is really easy to use, it’s simply the tip of an iceberg in terms of capability and features.  For more on the rest of the iceberg, see YUDU Pro.

New versions of our software are released every few months onto the YUDU servers, but based on some feedback and internal discussions, we’re looking at moving this to a much shorter, more agile development cycle, with new features arriving sooner – although they may need more testing from you if we deliver them like this!

Further to that, we’re looking into sharing features more and more, and would like to know how do you want to share your editions?  We currently have a drop down on all publications, letting you add them to Digg, Del.icio.us and Newsvine – do you want more like this? – Let us know! (we could drop in Add to Facebook to this list, for instance, for all of you people currently
[ reading | not supposed to be reading ] Facebook at work :) ).

Hello World!

Today see’s the release of our upgraded, unlimited and… unbelievable YUDU Freedom!

Everyone can now publish online for free and then share their interactive publications with the online world.

We want to continue to make this free service bigger and better for everyone. So, we want your help. We want your feedback and we promise we’ll listen!  So please, feel free to post comments to our blogs, or use the feedback form on the site. And if you like it… tell your friends! You could win a MacBook Air in the process…

Some of you may already know us as YUDU Media, through using our advanced Professional Publishing product. You may have already used YUDU Freedom in the past – back in the day when we were testing & tweaking and we limited it to 16 pages. However, it’s now got its very own website and we have upgraded it to give you higher quality, unlimited pages and a much easier and quicker publishing process. Well, when we say process, you upload your PDF, add your email address and press publish!

And just to test out the ease of use… I asked my mum to try it. If she can do it, anyone can… and she did it in seconds (and said it was like the first time she heard the Beatles ;-) . Enough said.
